Mission Statement

Montessori School of Fort Myers follows PEACEFUL principles to provide an individualized approach to nurture each child’s natural love of learning.  We shape independent, confident, out-of-the-box thinkers by teaching life skills through hands on experiences and peaceful conflict resolution.

Peace
We actively teach peaceful conflict resolution and self-calming skills in a calm classroom environment. 

Experience-based learning
Students learn through real life experiences and hands on materials.

Authenticity
We are committed to following the teachings and methods of Dr. Maria Montessori in accordance with the standards laid out by the American Montessori Society. 

Community
Our students, their families, our teachers, and administration strive to build a strong, family-like learning community.

Environment
The Montessori classroom is a prepared environment that has been optimized to provide the ideal learning environment for each age group.  Our prepared environments give children access to the appropriate materials during their sensitive periods of development.

Freedom
Students are granted freedom within limits. We give children freedom of movement, freedom of choice in their learning journey, and loving guidance from all the adults in their lives.

Universal Respect
Our community teaches and shares universal respect for each other, our school, and our Earth.
